An energy’s source ability to satisfy the demand in a short amount of time essentially because they can be stored and provided on demand.

The dispatchable energy sources are mostly fossil fuels. However, hydropower and nuclear energy are also dispatchable though nuclear is less reactive in start-up phase with less load follow and hydro needs replenishment.

Electricity storage technology, in order to compensate for intermittency, are at very different stages of maturity, but many face significant risk and extensive capital requirements.
